Konjac simmered
Konjac potatoes are grown in various mountainous regions of Nara Prefecture, and dishes made by boiling konjac, especially konjac skewers, are commonly eaten. Konjac has long been believed by our ancestors to cleanse the intestines, and its main component, glucomannan (a water-soluble dietary fiber), is said to be good for health and beauty.

Miwa noodles
Tracing the roots of Japan's noodle culture leads us to somen noodles, and tracing the history of somen noodles leads us to the hand-stretched somen noodles that originated in Miwa, Yamato Province (Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture). Enjoy the taste of original somen noodles in Nara, the birthplace of somen.
