Makiba Park
A prefectural ranch spread across a magnificent plateau, offering views of the Yatsugatake Mountains and Mt.Fuji.
This prefectural park is located on a plateau at an altitude of approximately 1,400m at the southern foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains, and was created by opening a portion of the Yamanashi Prefectural Yatsugatake Ranch to the public. Visitors can enjoy interacting with cows, sheep, and goats in the magnificent pastures. From within the park, a 180-degree panoramic view unfolds, overlooking Mount Akadake, the main peak of the Yatsugatake Mountains, as well as the Southern Alps, Mt.Fuji, and the Chichibu Mountains. In the season of fresh greenery, the area is covered in the white blossoms of wild pear trees.
Located in the heart of the park, "Makiba Restaurant" is Restaurant situated at an altitude of 1,400 meters. The menu features dishes made with abundant local ingredients, such as Koshu wine beef ribeye steak, thick-cut grilled Koshu Fuji Sakura pork, and Yamanashi's local specialty, "Shingen Hoto." The adjoining cafe is very popular for its "Farm Cow Soft Serve," where you can create your own original soft serve ice cream. Surrounded by idyllic scenery and the refreshing mountain breeze, it's a place where you'll want to spend a relaxing day.
