Atsumi Peninsula, located in the southern part of Aichi, is a place rich in nature, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and Mikawa Bay, and is a soothing travel destination known only to those in the know, offering stunning views, delicious food, and tranquil rural landscapes.

Among them, the Cape Irago Lighthouse, located at the tip of the peninsula, is known as a famous sunset spot and attracts the hearts of many travelers. We will introduce the highlights of a trip packed with the charms of summer in the Atsumi Peninsula.

A memorable sunset seen from Cape Irago Lighthouse

At the westernmost tip of the Atsumi Peninsula, a chalky white lighthouse stands jutting out into the sea - Irago Cape Lighthouse. This place is known as one of the best spots to see the sun setting into the Pacific Ocean.

As the sun sets and the sky changes from orange to crimson, the moment accompanied by the quiet sound of the waves is so beautiful it will leave you speechless.

There is a promenade around the lighthouse, so it is recommended to take a leisurely stroll while waiting for the sunset. On days when the weather is good, you can see as far as Ise-Shima in Mie.
