Nanatsuiwa Suspension Bridge

This 87m-long bridge spans the Houki River and was named after the Seven Rocks that are nearby. From spring to summer, you can enjoy fresh greenery, and in autumn, you can see the changing scenery of the seasons. It's about a 5-minute walk from the hotel, so it's a perfect spot for walking your dog. There is a foot bath in the parking lot, so it's a great place to take a break during your walk.

Gozanoishi-jinja Shrine

This historic shrine dates back to 1650 (Keian 3), when Lord Satake Yoshitaka, the feudal lord of Akita, sat down to rest while sightseeing around Tazawako, and has long been worshipped as a shrine that grants eternal youth and longevity and beautiful looks. The torii gate stands on the shores of Tazawako, and the contrast between the sparkling blue of the lake and the vermilion of the torii gate creates a beautiful scene. A unique feature of the shrine is that dogs are allowed inside the grounds and can be brought in to pray together. There are also pet charms available here to pray for the health and happiness of dogs, and many people visit just to get the charms.

Tazawako Herb Garden Heart Herb

This herb garden is located on the shores of Lake Tazawako, Japan's deepest lake. It features a garden and greenhouse where you can enjoy seasonal flowers and herbs, Restaurant, and a shop, and the hands-on classes using herbs and essential oils are popular. Dogs are allowed in the garden and greenhouse, and small dogs can be brought along to some of the terrace seats in Restaurant, so please ask the staff if you would like to do so. The herb garden is just the right size for a walk, and early spring is the best time to visit when many of the flowers are in full bloom.

Tsukuba Wanwan Land

Located at the foot of Mt. Tsukuba, this is one of Japan's largest dog and cat theme parks, with 1,000 dogs and cats of 90 different breeds. Dogs are welcome to enter the park, and they can run around to their heart's content in the vast natural grass dog run overlooking Mt. Tsukuba. The wooden dog Mokkun, the symbol of the park, is one of the world's largest at 11m tall, and is a great place to take commemorative photos with your dog. There are some zones where dogs cannot enter, such as the petting corner and stage viewing area, but there is a temporary dog-keeping service, so please make good use of it.

There are many recommended spots for walks, including a 9km long picnic course, the 48m long and 23m high Kadowaki Suspension Bridge, and the Kadowakisaki Lighthouse, which offers a 360-degree panoramic view. You can also see cute flowers such as hydrangeas in June, day lilies and lilies in July, and sea daisies and Japanese silverleaf daisies in autumn, so your dog will definitely feel refreshed.
