Ichinoseki, located in the south of Iwate, is home to two stunningly beautiful valleys woven by nature over the course of many years, both of which have been designated as historic sites, places of scenic beauty and natural monuments. Genbikei Gorge is a 2km long river that flows along the Iwai River, which originates from Mount Kurikoma, and features a diverse landscape of oddly shaped rocks and waterfalls.
